Myth #1:It\u2019s Very Painful to Have a Tooth Extracted<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The thought of having a tooth extraction can make you wince in pain by the thought alone, but it may be easier than you think! Many providers know how uncomfortable this procedure can be, so they make it as easy as possible with powerful local anesthesia and dental sedation<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Special tools are used to loosen your tooth from the surrounding tissues without causing too much disturbance. That way, you feel little to no discomfort, or rather, pressure instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Myth #2: Recovery Takes a Really Long Time<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After you have your tooth removed, your body will need time to heal. While you might imagine this takes a long time, the initial recovery phase only takes a few days. You will need to follow your dentist\u2019s post-op instructions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Doing so will prevent complications like dry socket. This is a condition that can cause severe discomfort, but it can be prevented. After several weeks, the extraction site should be all good, but you\u2019ll likely feel back to normal before then.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
